Good, Bad, Ugly, Artificial Intelligence

Artificial intelligence finds applications in space exploration. Intelligent robots can be used to explore space. They are machines and hence have the ability to endure the hostile environment of the interplanetary space. They can be made to adapt in such a way that planetary atmospheres do not affect their physical state and functioning. Intelligent robots can be programmed to reach the Earth's nadirs. They can be used to dig for fuels. They can be used for mining purposes. The intelligence of machines can be harnessed for exploring the depths of oceans. These machines serve human so well especially where human intelligence has serious limitations.

Yesterday senior service was very good I liked it a lot, there was nothing that I had to complain about it was really fun and I enjoyed spending my time there. for my senior service I volunteered at the local pre school and my duties were to play and interact with the pre schoolers, it was a lot of fun and the little kids are just so happy and in great moods and it makes it a great environment to spend my time at.

2014 Sochi Olympics

It is the first Olympics in Russia since the breakup of the Soviet Union in 1991. The Soviet Union was the host nation for the 1980 Summer Olympic in Moscow. A total of 98 events in 15 winter sport disciplines were held during the Games. A number of new competitions—a total of 12 accounting for gender—were held during the Games, including biathlon mixed relay, women's ski jumping, mixed-team figure skating, mixed-team luge, half-pipe skiing, ski and snowboard slopestyle, and snowboard parallel slalom. The events were held around to clusters of new venues: an Olympic Park constructed in Sochi's Imeretinsky Valley on the coast of the Black Sea, with Fisht Olympic Stadium, and the Games' indoor venues located within walking distance, and snow events in the resort settlement of Krasnaya Polyana.

Flapp Bird

The game is simple, infuriatingly difficult, and apparently, rather addictive. The user must guide a bird through sets of green pipes by tapping the screen, earning one point for each set of pipes cleared. the app has been downloaded 50 million times and makes the owner 50,000 per day. Flappy Bird’s Vietnamese creator, Dong Nguyen, announced Saturday on Twitter that he’d be taking the game—currently the most popular for both Android and Apple—down for good: Dong didn’t add much further explanation, but he did clarify that the decision is not related to legal issues. “I just cannot keep it anymore,” he said.

Google Sketchup

SketchUp, marketed officially as Trimble SketchUp, is a 3D modeling program for applications such as architectural, interior design, civil and mechanical engineering film, and video game design. The program claims to be easy to use. There is an online repository of free-of-charge model assemblies (e.g., windows, doors, automobiles, etc.), 3D Warehouse, to which users may contribute models. The program includes drawing layout functionality, allows surface rendering in variable "styles", supports third-party "plug-in" programs hosted on a site called Extension Warehouse to provide other capabilities (e.g., near photo-realistic rendering), and enables placement of its models within Google Earth

Makerbot Replicator Printer

MakerBot Industries is a Brooklyn, New York-based company founded in January 2009 by Bre Pettis, Adam Mayer and Zach "Hoeken" Smith producing 3D printers. MakerBot Industries' products are designed to be built by anyone with basic technical skills and are described as about as complicated as assembling IKEA furniture.^[8] The printers are sold as do it yourself kits, requiring only minor soldering. Alongside the Replicator 2, in September 2012 MakerBot also released the Replicator 2X. The 2X model was intended as an experimental version of the 2 that includes a completely enclosed build area, dual-extruder support, the ability to print with ABS plastic with a heated aluminum build platform, a redesigned extruder that improves reliability, and software support for these features.

Military ROTC Programs

it is a college class like any other only its worth just 2 credits
you go one day a week for class and one day a week for lab
also you have a field training exercise (FTX) once a semester and it last the weekend and it is mandatory. Depending on the program and college, PT(physical training) may be mandatory. At UF we PT 3 times a week and it is mandatory. Benefits are that your tuition, books and housing is paid for, and you also get a monthly stipend. You also get health insurance, but all the benefits are only after you "contract." The contract is pretty straight forward. The army/air force/navy will pay for school, housing , and give you a stipend if you promise to serve either 2 to 4 years active duty, or 6 years reserves/ national guard once you commission as an officer. It's really easy to get into, it's like any other class. You just have to register for it. Your first 2 years you can come and go without any obligation, but to continue with rotc after the second year you have to contract. The contract is really easy to get and maintain. A 2.5 GPA is all you need, and at my school they hand out contracts like candy. The programs vary from school to school though but the scholarship contracts are all the same. PT is tough and there is a PT test which you have to pass to contract and stay contracted. It isn't imposiible though. As long as you go out and pt with your company on the designated days you should be fine to take the PT test. Also you do not have to go to basic, thats for enlisted men. You will have to go to LDAC (leadership development and assessment course) your junior summer, which last 31 days.

Digital Game Based Learning

Mark Prensky was the one who invented this and wrote the book. It was the first comprehensive look at using digital games for learning ,now finally a hot topic in education. Still valid, useful, and an excellent introduction to the subject of learning games, Marc’s book describes both the theory and the practice of Digital Games-Based learning, in education, training and the military. Digital games are now being used to teach babies the alphabet, to help kids monitor their diabetes and overcome ADD, to teach both practical and tactical skills to the military, to teach financial derivatives to auditors and to teach CAD software to engineers, among many other things. And this is just the beginning anything can be taught more effectively through Digital Game-Based Learning.

21 century jobs

A Pharmacist is a big 21st century job, it is also one of the highest paying jobs too. With new medicine coming out all the time Pharmacists always need to distribute prescription drugs to individuals. They also advise their patients, physicians and other health practitioners on the selection, dosages, interactions and side effects of medications, as well as monitor the health and progress of patients to ensure that they are using their medications safely and effectively.

Another 21st century job is a Marketing Manager, it also has a hefty pay day, Marketing Managers plan, direct or coordinate marketing policies and programs, such as determining the demand for products and services offered by a company and its competitors and identifying potential customers. They develop pricing strategies with the goal of maximizing the company's profits or share of the market while ensuring that its customers are satisfied. Marketing managers oversee product development or monitor trends that indicate the need for new products and services.

Flash Adobe

Flash Adobe is not my favorite system to use, it is used for video games, and is somewhat similar to photoshop in my experience. Flash can be linked with dreamweaver because you may want to make a video game or put it on a website. Although one thing that I do enjoy about flash adobe is that it allows you to express your mind freely and use your creativity and imagination to the fullest of your ability.

Modern Day Renessiance Men

To be a true Renaissance man, you have to be an all around badass. And as the father of old school tattooing, a poet, a sailor, and a musician, Sailor Jerry did it all. Here are some other modern day men who can do it all and more, James Franco is a great actor but also an accomplished painter and writer, he also teaches a class at NYU. Another modern day man is Pharrell Williams, he is an artist, designer, branding wizard, musician and entrepreneur, is there anything that Pharrell can’t do? This mogul has built an empire and a name for himself in just about every industry possible.

Another modern day man would be Steve Jobs the owner and founder of Apple Products he is Dubbed the da Vinci of our time, Steve really did it all. As the visionary behind the Apple empire, he transformed four industries which is something more than just luck and talent - it’s genius!

Long Weekend Blog

As you know we had a long weekend and if you are from Boston it was a good weekend for our home town sports. The Bruins kicked it off with a 3-1 victory over the Columbus Blue Jackets, although they haven't been a very tough opponent in the past they held their own but the Bruins are just too good. So we took the win.  The bruins next opponent new division rivals the Detroit Red Wings, as many expected it was a great game, the B 's trailed 3-1 late in the 3rd period but Lucic's goal gave them life, but it just wasn't enough to stop the Red Wings with stealing it from us. The red sox started their ALCS this weekend and game 1 was a hard fought disappointing loss, but that didn't stop us we kept out heads high and played great the next day in game 2. we were down late but Big Papi's grand slam homeroom tied up the game and gave us enough momentum to score 1 more run and steal the game to tie it up at 1 a piece. Next we have the New England Patriots, they had their toughest opponent yet battling the New Orleans Saints, it was a pretty even game but late in the 4th the saints got a field goal to tie it up then they got another one to go ahead by 3. There was less that 2 minutes left when Brady got the ball but he threw a pic many people thought it was over but our D was able to stop them and and with under 45 seconds to go the game is in the hands of Tom Brady. He marched us down field and with 5 seconds left he threw it deep in to the end zone and Thompkins went up and caught the game winning touch down, what a great moment in football and even better for Boston sports fans.

Boston Sports Teams

Over the past week Bostons sports teams have been making a lot of noise in the headlines good and bad. With a great start off to the regular season the Bruins are making a statement in the Atlantic Division starting off the season 2 and 0 with their latest victory defeating new division contenders the Detroit Red Wings. In other news the Boston Red Sox open up their playoff's with a 2 and 0 record, the Sox have been on fire lately and are a strong favorite to win the world series. On the bad size of the Boston sports are the New England Patriots with a very disappointing loss to the Bengals yesterday. The Patriots just could not get anything going for them on offense managing just to put up 6 points on the score board. Perhaps the biggest disappointment from yesterdays loss was Brady's touchdown streak of 52 games being snapped.

The poem is about not letting others doing your job for you and doing your own job to the best of your ability. When there is an important job to be done and everyone was asked to do it its up to you to step up, take responsibility, and get it done. Don't leave it up to someone else because what if no one does it then your screwed.

I think that schools should allow students to use personal devices such as ipads and tablets but not cell phones. ipads and tablets will help the student learn and cellphones will just distract the student from learning

this is my first blog I very excited
